Image Processing

Providing support with image data handling, processing and analysis

Process

Need help with your image data? Contact us!

1.
Open-door policy

We are here to help! All EPFL scientists (PhDs, postdocs, staff, Professors) are encouraged contact the Hub at any time to discuss imaging questions.

2.
Flexible support

From a one-time discussion to bi-monthly meetings or the co-supervision a semester project—we adapt to your needs. And it’s free! (Except for extended, long-term projects).

A snapshot of the projects our team has provided image-analysis help for!

November 2022

Large-Scale Segmentation of Muscles in MRI Scans

LISP
SV
We developed the LISP design a complete ML-based algorithmic pipeline to efficiently segment different muscle tissues in 40k full-body MRI scans.
August 2022

Identification of Cracks in Shrinking Wet Clay

LMS
ENAC
We helped the LMS to measure volume change and identify cracks in x-ray tomograms of shrinking wet clay.
June 2022

Shale Swelling with X-ray Tomography

LMS
ENAC
We helped the LMS to measure shale parameters during swelling tests on reconstructed x-ray scans.
April 2022

Orientation Characterization of Neurons in SEM Images

LQNO
SB
We helped the LQNO to identify axons in SEM images, extract their traces and characterize their orientations.
April 2022

Automatic Identification of Xylem Embolisms

PERL
ENAC
We developed an algorithm to automatically identify xylem embolisms in large x-ray tomography scans.
March 2022

Augmented Stone Tracking

IBOIS, MANSLAB, EESD
ENAC
We provided a algorithm that colors the parts of the wall where a selected stone can fit based on an existing optimization code.
